Known to be one of the most aggressive eaters at feeding time, they consume large rats, rabbits, dogs, goats, and live deer.


Females can lay a clutch of 20 - 80 eggs which they will incubate if left to do so.  Retics can live 19 – 30 years in captivity.

Interesting Facts

Retics are generally believed to be the longest snake in the world with the potential to become 25 feet or longer and weigh up to 300 pounds.
