They feed on fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and their eggs, and small mammals.
LIFECYCLE
The largest snake native to North America, they can reach a maximum total length of 8 ½ feet. They reach sexual maturity-5 years. Females lay a single clutch of 4-14 large eggs between April-June.
