DIET
Tarantulas prefer to hunt at night catching crickets, lizards, and other nocturnal creatures, once or twice each week.
LIFECYCLE
Most tarantulas reach adult size in 7 years depending on the species. Males, once they mature only have a few months to mate before they die. Females can live 20-30 years. Females can lay egg sacks with up to 500 babies.
INTERESTING FACTS
They molt their entire skin, including their fangs, stomach lining and respiratory organs. Newly molted tarantula are vulnerable to disease until their exoskeleton hardens.
